Guys...I want a Dog

Yes this is ridiculous.

Yes we live in the worlds smallest apartment.

Yes, Jack will kill us all in our sleep.

But...I want a dog.

This is a Husky, Corgi mix. I die.

Chocolate Lab?? Yes I know this is a puppy. Yes I know they get bigger.

Captain Archer on Star Trek: Enterprise has one named Porthos...

How Jack feels about us getting a dog...

We are planning to move to a slightly bigger place this summer, and I'll be spending less of my day in the car as a result. Any suggestions on good breeds with kids and kitty? Also that are good being home alone most of the day? Should we just stick with the kitty for now?

I want a dog dang it.

dogs are a LOT of work. we had a dog and while she was great, never again. dog love is the best and they really do become part of your family. just be sure to do your research and find a breed that best suits your lifestyle. ie. if you have a small place, don't get a huge dog or one that sheds a lot etc etc.

Labs are wonderful when they're like 5 or 6 years old. Ha! No, really, they are a lot of work and are not great dogs to be left home alone for long periods of time. They need a lot of exercise and interaction. They're great with children, but mine hates cats. Pretty sure all labs aren't like that though. Our boxer loves everyone. Sweetest most well behaved dog we've ever had.

I want a dog so badly as well! However my condo is like 700 sq ft it would never work and oh yeah I'm never home but all those sweet pups are so adorable!

I am right there with you! The very second I have the time/space for a puppy I will be adopting a black lab. Seriously, I will sign the lease and have a puppy in the car before I get home.

I have two cats, and I have heard that Huskies aren't great around them due to their high prey drive. However, labs and other retrievers aren't usually cat killers. I know that it depends on each individual dog, but I would feel terrible if I came home one day and one of them was seriously injured.

I'd say a small breed if you aren't going to be home all day. I have a poodle and a border Collier and the poodle just chills all day. The border collie is desperate for attention. If I worked out of the house we wouldn't be able to keep the BC because she's so high needs. Definitely do your research on breeds maybe find a dog that's a bit older if you want a larger breed.

Get ALL of the dogs! Johnny Cakes is a Chihuahua and I love the small breed... it's good for small spaces obviously - but they're not great with kids. :(

That husky-corgi made me make the girliest noise I think that's ever come out of my mouth. A-dor-able.

yesss get a doggie! I might be a little biased, but I think pugs are great :) bowie is great with kids and he gets along with Jarrod's parents' cats when we go to their house. and both pugs sleep in crates all day while we're at work and don't mind since they're lazy. regardless of what kind you get though, hope you are able to get a sweet doggie soon!

Aw, that husky/corgy mix is super cute! If you do get a dog, I can't wait to read about Jack's reaction. Haha!
